In France, 434,240 tons of plastic bottles are thrown away by households, representing 36% of the total plastic packaging used by households.<\/p>\r\n<p><br \/>A directive of the European Parliament in 2019 sets ambitious targets to implement a circular economy to combat the production of this waste.<\/p>\r\n<p>By 2030, all plastic packaging placed on the European market must be fully reusable and easily recyclable. Faced with these objectives, the giants of the food industry have made commitments over the last two decades, most of which have been abandoned or postponed.<\/p>\r\n<p>Lack of realism, lack of will or lack of infrastructure: the problems encountered in achieving these objectives are not insurmountable, but require a strong mobilization of all actors: producers, consumers, public authorities.<\/p>\r\n<p>Today, collection rates are insufficient.
